Artist of the Week - 21 December 2010

'Concerned with conflict and our impact that we have on the land around us, I am interested in humans as a territorial animal manoeuvring around one another for the greatest chance at survival and why we as a species will always be at odds with one another.

I want to paint the fragile tension between peace and violence using strong gestural marks next to deep, rich fields of colour and working on a variety of tactile materials that gives the painting a foundation.'
